School of Accountancy (SOA) is the 2nd largest accounting school in Malaysia. SOA was established in July 2011 in order of restructuring of college of business of University Utara Malaysia ( UUM ). SOA has two  departments, namely Department of Audit and Accounting Information Systems and Department of Financial Accounting and Taxation. SOA is one of the oldest accounting schools in our country, established since 1984. 
Mission of SOA is to be recognised as a national and international leader in accounting education, research, and consultation.

Vision of SOA is to provide high quality learning for students, conduct and disseminate research and consultation, and positively contribute to the profession and the wider community.

 Professor Dr. Kamil Md. Idris

Professor Dr. Kamil Md. Idris heads the School of Accountancy as its Dean. He obtained his PhD from Universiti Utara Malaysia. Besides being involved actively in various academic activities within the University, Dr. Kamil is also the Chief Examiner of the Malaysia Examination Council (Accounting), and member of the curriculum design of Malaysia Examination Council (Accounting). A prolific writer and researcher, Dr. Kamil has several awards to his name, specifically for his writing and presentation skills. He is responsible for two  undergraduate accounting degree programmes as well as the master’s and PhD programmes in the area of accounting and related disciplines.
